Compañía
Nacional de Danza 2 was created
on the initiative of its Artistic
Director, Nacho Duato, in October
1999 with the aim to train
and to prepare dancers to face
professional life. It intends
to be a link between conservatories,
ballet schools and professional
companies such as Compañía
Nacional de Danza.
From
its creation, Tony Fabre, ex dancer
of Compañía
Nacional de Danza and Assistant Artistic Director of Compañía
Nacional de Danza 2, has provided
to the Company of a repertory
formed predominantly by Nacho
Duato's works and into that it
is incorporating works of young
and promising choreographers.
This gives young dancers the opportunity
to closely follow new tendencies
and to include some of these elements
into upcoming works.
In short, this project tries to encourage young dancers' hopes, to awake interest amongst young audiences towards contemporary dance and to enhance the cultural offer panorama.
